This year for the honour of the centenary of the establishment of The Republic of Turkey, MUN100 represents you to its special committee, the First Grand National Assembly of Türkiye. The Republic of Turkey was established on October 29, 1923, following the conclusion of the Turkish War of Independence led by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. The establishment of the Republic marked a transformative period in Turkish history, replacing the Ottoman Empire's centuries-old system with a modern, secular state. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founding father of modern Turkey, played a pivotal role in shaping the new nation's principles. The Republic was officially proclaimed, and Atatürk became its first President. The establishment of the Turkish Republic involved significant reforms, including the adoption of a new legal code, the introduction of a Latin alphabet, and the implementation of political, social, and educational changes to modernize and secularize the country. Atatürk's vision emphasized principles of democracy, nationalism, and secularism, setting the foundation for Turkey's development as a modern, democratic state in the decades that followed. In this committee, delegates are expected to establish the Republic of Türkiye despite the hardships given.
